Invite Me to Speak
When I was four years old, I noticed a small white spot on my face. It was the beginning of vitiligo. From my first day of school, I faced bullying and rejection. Children laughed at me, avoided me, and treated me as if I were “different” in a negative way. Even though it hurt deeply, I decided not to hold hatred. I chose kindness and forgiveness, even when it was hard.
Art became my refuge. Painting, writing, and performing allowed me to express feelings I didn’t have words for. Through art, I discovered a way to transform pain into beauty, to process emotions, and to build resilience.
As I grew older, the bullying continued, and even well-meaning people told me to “fix” my skin. But I realized that true healing does not come from changing myself to please others it comes from acceptance, self-love, and inner strength.
I wrote my biography, Painting My Life: How Vitiligo Impacted My History. Writing allowed me to reflect on my past, understand my choices in relationships, and reconnect with my inner child. Later, my second book, El Actor Cuando El Telón Cayó, explored real love, heartbreak, and the journey of choosing myself.
My message is simple: our challenges do not define us; how we express ourselves and grow from them does.
